Quentin Cooper (presenter of BBC Radio 4′s weekly The Material World, the UK’s most listened to science programme) chaired this special event which included a dance performance on the De La Warr roof terrace in proximity to Richard Wilson’s Hang on a Minute Lads, I’ve got an idea… 

This lively chat-show style debate considered the physiology of balance and poise, including discussion of the aesthetic qualities of sport/ dance (grace and presence) before moving on to consider neurological skill development in athletes.  The event featured contributions from neuro-scientist Morten Kringelbach, Rambert’s scientist-in-residence  Nicky Clayton, as well as dance-scientist Elsa Bradley and Everything Flows artists susan pui san lok and Dryden Goodwin. The discussion was followed by a dance performance.
